Home is where the heart is

This is one is just for my partner's sister, (who is off following her dreams and making us all very proud in the big L of A) Sheridan. 

My partner's sister has been given the opportunity of a lifetime, to follow her heart and dreams and make a go of her dream of being an actress, by receiving a scholorship to study acting in LA for 2 years. We have been keeping in regular contact over the internet, which is great, as everyone is starting to miss her bubbly sense of humour. 

We had only told Sheridan that she was going to be an aunty a couple of weeks before she was due to leave the county, as my partner was worried that something major like this may make her unsure about heading to American for study. I don't think he would have forgiven himself if this was the case. 

We have our finger's crossed that she will be able to come home for a little while in December. This will be the first time she will be able to meet her niece/nephew, although both myself and my partner have big plans of making Sheridan as involved in the rest of the pregnany as possible. I am even going to have a 4D ultrasound just so I have something to send her to keep her in the loop! 

Master Bumblebee keep's asking me how old he will be when Sheridan comes home. He will be 7, the same age my partner and Sheridan's youngest sibling is now. Master Bumblebee informed me last night that he want's to skip being 6 and turn 7 straight away. I am sensing that he is starting to miss Sheridan a little! 

I can't wait until Sheridan get's to meet Jinx (or Jinxy haha) for the first time. I think she is going to make a fantastic aunty, one of the best any child could ask for. Actually I think that all the aunty's and uncle's in this family will be amoung the best you could ever ask for. This child is extremely lucky to be born into this family, and if this child grows up to be as wonderful and inspiring as Sheridan, I will count my blessings. 

It is a very weird feeling driving up the driveway to see Sheridan's car sitting there but knowing that she is almost on the other side of the world from us. The next two years of us all missing her are worth it, as she will never wake up 30 years from now and wonder 'What if?'. 

It doesn't matter how near or far she is, she will always be a big part of Jinx's life once he/she is born, and I'm sure Jinx will love her to the world and back, just as Master Bumblebee does.
