Tooth Fairy

The 5 year old (who wishes to be known as Master Bumblebee) lost his first tooth today. It was a pretty exciting 5 minutes of my day thats for sure. I noticed the said tooth was loose the other night as it wasn't inline with the rest of his teeth (my son has very straight teeth) and thought "what the hell is that". Upon further inspection and asking Master Bumblebee if his tooth was loose (to which he answered yes, with his ridiculous look on his face as if to say "Durr Mum"), he concluded that we were about to begin the next chapter of growing up.

I think it too roughly half and hour, maybe more, for me and my partner to convince Master Bumblebee that his tooth would grow back, and explained the process of getting baby teeth (milk teeth) to loosing his baby teeth and getting his big kid teeth. He has now concluded that he is getting his big kid teeth, because he will need them to be a big brother LOL.

I have been very paranoid over the last couple of days that this tooth would fall out at school and get lost. If it was any other tooth, I wouldn't be as upset, but this being the very first tooth to fall out, well it kind of holds future sentimental value. Don't get me wrong, I plan on keeping all of his teeth, but the first of anything is something special. This tooth, ironically, happens to be the first tooth that Master Bumblebee cut as a baby, almost 5 years to the day.

So with that paranoia in the back of my mind constantly for the last two days, we have been trying to wiggle this tooth out, with absolutely no success what-so-ever. Eventually I just gave up on the idea haha.

Sitting watching TV about 3 hours, Master Bumblebee advised as that his tooth is now really, really wobbly. He wanted to me to wiggle it again, to which, after several failed attempts, I really could see the point. He ended up doing it himself, and after no more then about 50 seconds, the tooth was out.

The tooth is now sitting in a egg cup of water, on the window sill, waiting for the tooth fairies anticipated visit tonight. And we have a very proud 5 year old.
